Nick’s Story
It’s Sunday, Valentines Day 2010. All my coupled up friends are out on dates and I’m sitting in the freshman dorms finishing up homework. I don’t have any plans so I decide to just go to the gym later to play basketball or work out (gotta maintain those 8 pack abs amirite?). Suddenly four of my friends come into my room unannounced and inform me that we’re all going to the club to meet girls. It is Valentines Day after all. I politely decline and because I’m too mature for clubbing and go to bed early so that I can get straight A's and make my family proud. I meet Grace later that year while we both are volunteering our time rescuing puppies that have been displaced by natural disasters.
Grace’s Story
WHAT REALLY HAPPENED.
We met on Valentine’s Day 2010. I wanted to stay home but was forced by my friends to go out. Keep in mind, we were still 20-year-old babies and couldn’t go out to real bars. So I get dragged out and I’m sitting at a table with my friend. This stranger comes up to us and says to me, “I think I know you from somewhere.” My thoughts - the only places I go are work and school - I definitely don’t know you from “somewhere” but let’s see what this guy has to say. Nick then starts talking with my friend and I go outside with the other girls so she can get thoroughly hit on. I go back after a while to make sure she wasn’t kidnapped and he immediately asks me to dance. Confused, I look over at my friend and she gives me a thumbs up and mouths “you should dance with him!” (Apparently the only questions he asked while I was gone were about me.) We start talking and I tell him I’m a sophomore in college and he starts telling me that he’s a junior at UCI (I later find out that he’s actually a freshman and only a junior in college credits... gotta do what he had to do to keep me around I guess). We meet up for our first date and he makes me talk in weird accents - it made me really question getting back into the dating scene. Two months and a few better dates later, we make it official. He still talks in weird accents tho.
Fast forward almost 9 years and we’ve moved to the bay area with our doggo, Ellie. Nick decides he can’t live without me and rents out a private beach in Cabo to propose in the presence of our immediate families (yeah, he did good). We decide to have a big party and invite our loved ones to help us celebrate our marriage and here we are!
We can't wait to celebrate with you all!
